Golf, Gators & Granola Bars: A Day in the Life of a Fort Myers Realtor

buying-home

8:15 AM — Coffee & Crown Colony

My day usually starts with a drive through Crown Colony. Even when I don’t have showings scheduled, I like to keep a pulse on the neighborhood. A homeowner walking her Yorkie waved this morning and yelled, “Tell your buyer this view’s better than it looks online!” She’s not wrong — some of the lake and golf course angles don’t do well on Zillow.

9:30 AM — Gator as Greeter

Today’s showing was a waterfront home in South Fort Myers. As we stepped out back, one of my buyers froze and whispered, “Is that a log… or is that moving?” It was, in fact, moving. The gator was sunbathing about 15 feet from the seawall.

Florida real estate rule #4: Always check the canal before pitching the outdoor lifestyle.

11:45 AM — Lunch of Champions

I call it “car charcuterie”: two granola bars, an apple, and a bottle of SmartWater. I’ve eaten fancier, but I’ve also eaten colder. Most days, lunch is whatever I can grab between appointments — bonus points if it doesn’t melt in the cup holder.

1:00 PM — The Inspection Curveball

Met the inspector at a Colonial Shores listing only to discover the seller forgot to crate their 90-pound Lab. The inspector was not thrilled. I, however, made a new friend (and got licked in the face for my efforts).

We rescheduled part of the attic check, but the dog got five stars.

3:00 PM — McGregor Blvd Cool Down

I always find an excuse to drive McGregor. The shade from the oaks, the breeze off the river — it reminds me why people fall in love with this part of Fort Myers. Plus, it gives me five minutes to breathe before heading to a 4:00 Zoom listing consult.

So, What’s the Point?

Real estate in Fort Myers isn’t always glamorous, but it’s always interesting. Between golf carts, gators, and granola bars, every day brings a new challenge — and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

If you’re buying, selling, or just wondering what your home might be worth in today’s market, I’m always happy to share what I know — and maybe a snack recommendation or two.
